• April 16, Networking is Telling, not Selling with Colleen Clarke The networking event was a huge success— everyone enjoyed the conversation, cocktails and practice of netiquettes (networking etiquettes) learned from Colleen Clarke. Colleen is a highly regarded Career Specialist and Corporate Trainer/Keynote speaker in the areas of career management, communication and networking. Networking is a valuable social activity and should be part of everyone’s career or business growth strategy. It is continuous engagement and process to build your area of influence and visibility. To succeed in networking, here are some of the points to remember: 1. Have a goal— Be clear on what you want to achieve out of networking, i.e. information about something, # of person to meet, etc. 3. Always carry a business card and wait for people to ask for your card 4. Give a firm handshake, look into the eye and put your name tag at proper place where people can see it with ease — on the right side if it’s a pin or just above the center of chest for string tags. 5. Exit strategy— Disengage from the conversation appropriately. Example: Thank you, Colleen. It’s been a pleasure meeting you, I know you want to meet more people so enjoy the rest of the event. Keep in touch.
And more... Thank you to all attendees, CATAWIT members and Merrill Lynch as major sponsor. See you all in the next event! Click here to see pictures. (If you want your pictures to be removed, email: info@it-nconsulting.com).
